The multinational takes part in commemorating the day, highlighting a series of solutions that emphasize the importance of safeguarding the ecosystem.
Since 1963, the International Soil Conservation Day has been celebrated every 7 July in honour of Hugh Hammond Bennett, an American scientist who devoted most of his life to studying sustainable measures for soil protection. What's more, Hammond was one of the firsts environmentalawareness by spreading to society on desertification.
In consideration of the multitude of life forms (flora, fauna, microorganisms, etc.) that live in the soil and the need by to nurture the agricultural resources needed to survive, the PORCELANOSA Group brands have launched several actions as part of their Eco Conscious plan with the aim of preventing premature desertification.
One of the measures implemented by L'Antic Colonial sees the production of its natural woods from "raw material grown in sustainable forests where many more trees are grown than are felled. This way, we ensure the constant creation of new green spaces while we reduce the negative effects of carbon dioxide on the atmosphere", the brand explains. This concern for the environment and its commitment to sustainability has brought L'Antic Colonial some honorary certifications,: including PEFC, FSC, NWFA and AITIM.
Following similar measures, Gamadecor guarantees the FSC label® on all the wood products in its Residence kitchens. In this way, an independent organisation certifies that the forest products soldby the brand come from forests with controlled logging.
Understanding that biodiversity requires as a space where all living things on the planet can live together and that poor soil conservation can cause natural disasters or damage the economy and global well-being, Krion has developed Krion™ Bath and Krion™ sheets with safe, healthy and sustainable materials that pose no risk to the environment. "We perform toxicity tests on organisms (animals and plants) present in terrestrial ecosystems. The results obtained have been very positive, with no toxicity observed on the tested species", confirms Krion.
For its part, Venishas implemented sound insulation measures at its factories to reduce noise generation and promote bird breeding in the surrounding woodlands. In addition,, as part of its sustainability plan, Venis uses ceramic printing machines with inks that do not contain toxic substances to ensurethey do not pose a subsequent danger to the environment.
In order to produce quality parts in accordance with maximum resource optimisation, Urbatek has chosen to manufacture large format, thin ceramic plaques, thus using less raw material. What's more, the company has decided to use packaging made of recycled cardboard and strapping made of reused plastics for transporting their materials to the site.
In its fight against deforestation, Noken has reinforced the scope of its WaterForest ecological project, whose main objective is to produce bathroom products with technology that favours sustainable water management and reduces energy consumption.Noken tops off its soil protection measures with the use of environmentally-friendly ink and sustainable cardboard boxes.
