Villa Etxezuri, the expression of architectural purity

The minimalist kitchen and continuity of the interior and exterior flooring are particular highlights

Villa Etxezuri is a 250m2 family home located in a small coastal city in southern Spain. The functional L-shaped design was conceived based on the clients' needs and the location of the property.

One of the wings contains the dwelling's more 'public' spaces: the living-dining room, kitchen and guest toilet for visitors. Meanwhile, the rooms used by the residents only are found in the other wing and first floor. The double-height dining room tops off the perfectly articulated structure.

Villa Etxezuri boasts an Emotions kitchen by Gamadecor. The clean lines of the space are enhanced by a worktop and sink in Krion® Lux; a hygienic, bacteriostatic, durable, resistant and easy-to-maintain material. The white furnishings and worktop, and wall in microcement by Butech, exude minimalist style.

The blend of materials used in the bathrooms (sanitaryware and taps by Noken) and colours, as well as the backlighting at the ceiling, create an intimate, warm and welcoming ambience. The guest toilet features Aqua Green mosaic tiles by L'Antic Colonial around the washbasin; a glazed, gloss finish material imbued with Mediterranean colours that lends depth and personality to the space.

The ceramic floor tiles achieve visual continuity and increase the sense of spaciousness: timeless and elegant Harlem Acero (Porcelanosa) tiles feature throughout the indoor and outdoor areas (non-slip version); including the swimming pool basin. The sole deviation from this design can be seen on the stairs leading to the upper floor of this family home, featuring Bottega Caliza by Porcelanosa.

Villa Etxezuri boasts several patio areas, functioning as extensions of the interior rooms. The meticulously arranged lighting converts these spaces into the perfect outdoor living area for summer nights. The backlit skirting outside adds a subtle touch of warmth and light.

The composition of the façade of this building, designed by Lucero Arquitectos, creates striking volumes, giving dynamism and movement to the architectural whole as the sun moves throughout the day, creating stunning plays on light and shade in the patio areas.

The clients' brief for the project was to achieve uniformity, durability and timeless materials, flawlessly achieved through the use of various PORCELANOSA Group products and models.
