Architecture is in the midst of a major transformation, due to the challenges climate change and the globalisation of technology present for the future. Taking sustainability and digitalisation as its central themes, the features in the latest issue of PORCELANOSA's Lifestyle magazine analyse shifts in the sector and current trends.
Responding to future challenges
Issue number 38 of Porcelanosa Lifestyle includes reports on new restaurant and medical centre design in the urban context; the PORCELANOSA IN professional consultancy programme; the research and launch of Solidker advanced porcelain (Venis Projects) for major projects; a review of Alberto Campo Baeza's life (2020 National Architecture Award); the growth of western luxury stores in China; interior design influencers and how they show their work on social media; and the opening of a new Porcelanosa showroom in London.
Interior design also plays a prominent role in the issue, with Mediterranean style, natural materials and open-plan structures under the spotlight. Studios such as DAJ Design, Pia Capdevila and Phenomena share this same decorative language, as examined in several of the publication's articles.
The Hotels section features an article on Palladium Group's expansion in Italy, with the opening of its Gran Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa in Campofelice di Roccella (Palermo, Sicily). Boasting a wide range of amenities such as signature restaurants and green spaces, this new resort opens out to the Mediterranean sea.
