This year, the Architecture and Interior Design PORCELANOSA Grupo Awards ceremony has changed the setting. This time, the 10th edition of the awards ceremony takes place in the symbolic Stock Exchange Palace buiding in Madrid, a neoclassical-styled historical building which dates back to 1831.
Nevertheless, it was not until 1893 when Queen Maria Cristina opened this charismatic building, with the original design by the architect Enrique Repullés, in collaboration with the sculptor Francisco Molinelli and the painter Luis Taberner. Through its renaissance style and the symbolism of its decoration, the palace represents what the building was aimed at, as well as the tasks carried out inside it, as the official site of the stock market institution; all of this with great historical charm and a classical feel. The building is in line with other buildings of major importance in Madrid, such as the Bank of Spain, the National Library, the Museum of Modern Art or the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language building. It is an historical space where corporate celebrations and important institutional events take place.
