PORCELANOSA Grupo Projects: Intimist architecture on the shores of the Mediterranean

Located in the very centre of Alicante, the capital of the Costa Blanca, this 95m2 house has been refurbished by the De Palacios interior design studio. Its work philosophy, a merger between industrial and Mediterranean styles is characterised by the intimate and minimal tone of its shapes.

In order to create this atmosphere, the construction of new interior structures has been key. All of them based on the natural light use and the careful selection of the materials from the PORCELANOSA Grupo.

Industrial-styled open spaces

The building’s iron columns are visible, and the industrial atmosphere covers the rest of the rooms and a part of the house furniture, such as the living-room bookcase.

The dining room area, next to the kitchen, has been thought up in order to be another atmosphere in the house and it is connected to the living room, the kitchen, the transit areas, the bedroom and the guest bathrooms. In this lay out, with a natural corridor which meets a bright open space, the house flooring plays a leading role. The Mini Eden texture natural wood in the Almond tone, both soft and relaxing, by L’Antic Colonial, can be found in most of the house.

Essential bathrooms

The commitment to the pure lines which avoid baroque styles plays a leading role in the mood of this project, above all in the bathrooms. An atmosphere of relaxation is created in the main bathroom and in the en-suite as well.

The functional minimal design defines the Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms bathroom equipment. Decorated in white tones and the furniture in natural wood, the chosen items to enhance the lightweight sensation have been the wall-hung sanitaryware (toilets and bidet from the Arquitect series), the deck mounted bathroom taps (from the Urban collection), the Neptune showerhead, the Contract model radiator, as well as the bathroom accessories by Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms and Gamadecor.

Systempool is also present in this project with the bathtub (Arquitect collection) and the shower tray (Line series).

All the atmospheres have been taken care of in very precise detail, including the chrome profiles by Butech.

Evolutionist interior design

Run by Francisco Palacios, the De Palacios studio is located in Calpe, Alicante in Spain, and it puts together projects which are revolutionary and timeless spaces. Palacios comments on the art of interior design by stating: “it has nothing to do with interesting set-ups or originality. It focuses on the people’s inner vision, spaces, mental and physical ones, on the project culture, and also on the desire and the truth. And maybe the unexpected truth is poetry and its appearance requires calmness”.

In his studio, construction is thought up in order to be the art of setting up a harmonious set where all the space and environment features are taken into account. Materials and objects at the service of people’s comfort are included. Immersive design with subtle fineness.
