These 69 apartments located next to the Howard Theatre in Northwest DC have been designed by PGN Architects, with a customised interior design featuring standout natural collections from PORCELANOSA Group.
With a brick and glass façade that marries Washington of the 1920s with the present day, building The Shaw blends modernist and industrial architecture using PORCELANOSA Group collections.
Designed by architecture studio PGN Architects and just a few metres from the legendary Howard Theatre, this block of 69 one and two bedroom apartments stands out for its customised interior design, where grey, brown and white hues are accented by distinctly futuristic furnishings.
This concept is first apparent in the lobby, where Aged Dark Nature and Raw Smoke Nature natural stone and cement inspired wall and floor tiles by XTONE® are combined with wood cupboards and bulb pendant lighting. Due to its resistance to extreme temperatures, waterproof composition, easy cleaning and scratch resistance, this sintered mineral compact can be used to create safer and brighter limitless rooms.
Inside the building, natural finishes predominate, with open-plan designs customised to suit each room. This runs through the kitchen-living room, where the marble look Glem White Nature collection by XTONE® has been used for the worktop, complemented by Metropolitan floor tiles by Porcelanosa.
The bathrooms also feature this same collection, in Silver. Taking inspiration from cement, Metropolitan Silver tiles broaden the limits of the rooms, uniting the walls and floors under the same overall aesthetic.
