PORCELANOSA Grupo’s firms, Butech and Urbatek, have co-worked on the façade renovation of the cosmopolitan downtown One Shot Hotel in Valencia.
ARqui-T, the architecture studio in charge of the hotel renovation set up the installation by means of the Butech building systems, a ventilated façade by making use of the versatile XLight extra-slim porcelain tile by Urbatek.
Because of its high resistance to weather conditions and its durability, the extra-slim porcelain tile by Urbatek was the perfect choice for completing the wall tiling of the innovative ventilated façade by Butech. It was based on an avant-garde attachment system of the extra-slim porcelain tile to the structure by means of both a lacquered visible clip with the RAL very close to the porcelain and a 5mm installation joint.
The choice in this project by ARqui-T studio of this type of façade with the XLight large-format wall tile by Urbatek, to be precise, the XLight Basic Snow Nature model in the 100×300 cm format, lies on the basis of its insulation capacity and energy efficiency. Thanks to the air chamber existing between the exterior closing tiled with the XLight and the inside wall, an approximate 20% and 30% energy saving can be achieved compared with common wall tiles.
The refurbishment project, including approximately an overall of 250m2 façade area, meant a radical change in the appearance of the hotel, whilst on the other hand, it also helped in achieving better heating and acoustic insulation in the building.
Likewise, and with the aim of providing the outside appearance of this avant-garde hotel with a more original urban touch, the studio in charge of the project opted for the installation of blue vinyls, which were afterwards stuck onto the very same XLight porcelain tiles, thus, providing them with great dynamism and originality.
