One of the most important weeks in the world of design, culture and architecture in Mexico City gets underway. Mexico Design Week opens its doors from October 11 to 15 with a complete programme of activities and meeting points that will hold the most influential creative community in the country at a cultural, educational, commercial and government level.
The PORCELANOSA Grupo will be present at three of the most important events of #DWM17: Design House, Ruta del Diseño and Expo Design Week. During these days, a total of 16 activities will be carried out, all of them focused on promoting design as a tool for economic, social, cultural and environmental development in the country.
Design House
Design House responds to one of the main and most revolutionary initiatives of Design Week at CDMX. An exhibition in which a select group of designers and architects join forces to refurbish and transform the spaces in a disused house with cutting-edge interior designs.
The materials and products they use correspond with contributions from the sponsoring company. In this case, the PORCELANOSA Grupo has collaborated with C.Cubica architects, founded in 1990 by the architects, Emilio Cabrero, Andrea Cesarman and Marco Coello; to develop the living room/lounge. In this evocative place, it is possible to find two of the most exclusive materials from the firm: the Gravity Aluminium 3D Hexagon Rose Gold mosaic-shaped wall tile by L’Antic Colonial metal in a bronze and gloss finish; and the Tortona 1L Palazzo natural wood parquet.
Another of the rooms in which the PORCELANOSA Grupo collaborated is the bedroom and the bathrooms. This firm worked with Salinas Lasheras, an architecture studio founded in Monterrey by Edmundo Salinas Salas and Manuel Lasheras Lopez. The main mission of this studio has been to turn the bedroom into an elegant and innovative space and it did so through the incorporation of the Eidos Nacar ceramic material for the bathroom.
The Design House home, located in front of Lincoln Park in Mexico City, will be open to the public from October 13, from 10:00am to 7:00pm.

Ruta del diseño (Design Route)
The second of the # DWM17 initiatives, in which PORCELANOSA also participated is the Ruta del Diseño. It is a bus tour with several stops, where you hop on and hop off, so to speak, as you go through the showrooms and galleries in the Polanco, Lomas de Chapultepec, San Miguel Chapultepec, Roma and Condesa areas. The main objective of this route is to help those attending to get to know the latest collections at first-hand, as well as the trends and releases of the most important brands in the CDMX. The PORCELANOSA store located in Av. Presidente Masaryk 140, is part of this route. It will open its doors on Saturday October 14, so that those attending can get to know the most outstanding and cutting-edge products from the firm. A day in which visitors are offered, in addition to more customised advice on architecture and interior design, a warm welcome in a relaxing atmosphere.
Expo Design Week
Finally, PORCELANOSA will have a space at the Expo Design Week. A national trade exhibition that annually, brings together a broad creative community, as well as customers, the media and brands. A meeting point who you can see the latest trends in Mexican designs for: furniture, architecture, interior design, fashion and jewellery.
PORCELANOSA invites visitors to visit its impressive space made with the Krion® Solid Surface, in which it presents the latest trends and the firm’s cutting-edge designs for the acrylic stone, revealing the particularities and noble benefits of this material at first hand.
