Foster & Partners opt for Krion® mineral compact in the decor of these modern Shanghai offices

Norman Foster's architecture studio has integrated the PORCELANOSA Group mineral compact into the business complex's furnishings and bathrooms.

Fosters & Partners architecture studio, led by Pritzker Prize-winning architect (1999) Norman Foster, designed these modern Shanghai offices with the principles of balance, lightness and sustainability in mind.

To bring these concepts to life, Norman Foster's team have gone for a rationalist style, brimming with pronounced straight lines, minimalist forms and planes that make the most of the natural light entering from outside, with a predominance of glass and iron materials.

Symbolic of the high-tech architectural style (which emphasises structural elements and systems, bringing them to the fore of the decor, and opts for the reuse of industrial materials in the building structure), this office complex features Krion® by PORCELANOSA Group in the bathrooms.

The architecture of the future, with Krion®

The façade, featuring stacked geometric blocks, creates a tinted glass mirror effect, and a total of 3000 m2 of Krion® has been used inside the building in the bathrooms.

The solid surface makes for improved health and safety of these spaces thanks to its high resistance, bacteriostatic nature (it prevents the accumulation of fungi and bacteria), easy cleaning and imperceptible joints.

These qualities run through countertop, made in Krion 1100 Snow White EAST, and the Basic B810 washbasin, with a sustainable composition (this is a 100% recyclable mineral compact) and white aesthetic that not only increases luminosity but also strengthens the link between nature and technology that is so characteristic of Norman Foster's work.
