The wide array of colours in the Urbatek stoneware collection has expanded the possibilities for architects and designers in their creations. This is the case for the Nudos Leisure Club project which chose the XLight large format superfine ceramic as a covering for its ventilated façade.The renowned architect José Javier Ramírez de Arellano, from the Arellano Arquitectos studio, was head of the Nudos Leisure Club project, located in Ciudad Real (Spain). This Sports centre is fully equipped with facilities, creating comprehensive offers and activities for all its users to enjoy.The centre is equipped with the most advanced technology in machinery and sports equipment, and the architect of this project also used a next generation material for the building’s façade: XLight large format porcelain. The material was used to for the ventilated façade, fixing the tiles by means of a stapling system developed by Butech, which provides more stability in this large format superfine ceramic (300x100x0.35 cm).A dynamic and relaxed finish with this sports club seal was achieved by the Arellano Arquitectos studio by combining colours from the Xlight Basic model in Snow, Bone, Winter, Autumn and Spring colours for one side of the façade, whilst the other side was covered with pieces from the Nox collection, creating an elegant counterpoint, similar to corten steel.PORCELANOSA Group large format superfine stoneware was used to create a resistant and hard wearing solution and reduce the execution phase to a record time, with the high performance tile placing system by Butech.
