PORCELANOSA Group Projects: Hotel Marqués House, luxury and design in the centre of Valencia

This historic building near Marqués de Dos Aguas Palace blends neoclassical architecture with minimalist décor using PORCELANOSA's Premium collections.

Located in a neoclassical mansion with views of Marqués de Dos Aguas Palace in Valencia, the superior four-star Hotel Marqués House by MYR Hotels blends design and cocktails with Premium collections by PORCELANOSA Group.

The original architectural features in its 29 luxury rooms (the suites have balconies) are blended with minimalism, centred around shades of white, beige, brown and grey. Given its exterior orientation and the breadth of all of its rooms, Valencia's natural light is the thread that links this zone with the upper terrace (chill out terrace) and the renovated Café Madrid, which leads on to the lobby.

The café was a meeting point for the Valencian intelligentsia in the early 20th century, witnessing writers, poets, painters and politicians meet for social gatherings, and it was where Constante Gil created what would later become known as 'Agua de Valencia' (fresh orange juice with cava), a cocktail that has already travelled all over the world.

The bedroom suites at Marqués House stand out for their high ceilings, white décor and fusion of textures. Here we see lightweight cotton and linen textiles contrasted with velvet and wicker armchairs, printed headboards and white wall lighting.

Marqués House bedroom suite with Par-Ker™ ceramic wood flooring

This Mediterranean style with Nordic accents is warmed up by the Par-Ker™ ceramic wood used throughout the bedrooms, installed using Butech's ceramic fixing materials (Fr-one n bonding material). Flooring by Urbatek has been used outside, with a nature-inspired look that reinforces the continuous design that shuns partitions and limits.

Porcelanosa ceramic parquet combines the resistance of ceramics with the look of natural wood, with a subtle yet impressive grain that reproduces the shine and density of cherry wood.

Bathrooms integrated with the bedrooms

The bathrooms have been designed to be integrated and are open to the bedrooms, with oval Forma washbasins by Noken and Future taps resting on marble countertops.

Designed in neutral tones, the balance of colour is reinforced by the oval Lounge bath and Square taps by Noken. Pieces that marry perfectly with the black circular mirrors and Victorian Island Star White mosaic tiles by L'Antic Colonial. The geometric tiles with woven tesserae lighten the bathroom area and amplify the whiteness of the bath.
