Porcelanosa lights up Christmas in New York with a giant gift box

The firm recreated an ephemeral showroom combining design and tradition wrapped between unforgettable moments in the heart of Fifth Avenue

From 10 to 15 December, Porcelanosa rekindled the magic of Christmas in the Big Apple with a unique installation in Madison Square Park, in front of its flagship shop on Fifth Avenue.

In the form of a giant gift box, this space offered locals and visitors alike a unique experience, stopping time amidst the frenetic pace of the city during this significant period.

A gift for the Big Apple

The installation, conceived as a monumental gift box, stood out for its exterior design. Covered with the compact mineral Krion®, the structure aroused the curiosity of passers-by, both for its purity of form and its dimensions.

The interior, designed to evoke the warmth of home, recreated a Christmas room where visitors could take refuge from the cold outside. The walls, covered with XLIGHT Vendome large-format porcelain tiles and Skins Empyreal Serpentine Bronze wallpaper, added a sophisticated touch, while the PAR-KER® Bruselas wood-effect ceramic model accentuated the cosy atmosphere. The furniture, which is part of Gamadecor’s Living collection, completed the design with functional and elegant pieces, enveloping the space with style.

Unforgettable moments in a unique setting

The installation came to life with a lighting that marked the beginning of this Christmas action. In a festive atmosphere, with live music from a jazz band, attendees participated in a special exchange of wishes and Christmas ornaments; made with Krion® and Porcelanosa ceramics. The scene recreated the traditional ritual of decorating the tree while reflecting the value of sharing during this time of year.

Throughout the week, Porcelanosa’s ephemeral showroom became a meeting point for those looking for a warm break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Upon entering, visitors enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate while relaxing next to the Christmas tree, an ideal space to capture unique memories in a magical atmosphere.

For this action, Porcelanosa once again partnered with Chocolates Valor, bringing the traditional flavour of Christmas to Manhattan.

Craftsmanship and tradition in the Christmas workshops

The programming around the giant gift installation included a selection of workshops designed to explore creativity and highlight the value of craftsmanship and materials.

At 202 Fifth Avenue, where Porcelanosa’s showroom is located, the artist Cristina Velasco, from Anaquiños de Papel, guided the attendees in the creation of Christmas figures delicately made with Skins wallpapers by L’Antic Colonial.

With the Eleven People scenting products studio, participants learned how to make solid air fresheners with scents that evoke the essence of Porcelanosa. And Asturian watercolourist Catalina Rodríguez gave a workshop in which ceramic pieces became canvases for unique Christmas motifs.

These artisanal workshops, which also moved to the Porcelanosa store in Brooklyn evoking a traditional Christmas market, completed an experience that transcended the boundaries of design to connect with emotions and create unforgettable moments around the most magical time of the year.
