Designed as a type of compact city complete with hotels, gyms, theatres, cinemas, restaurants, Asian gardens and premium homes, Tangram superblock is one of the most ambitious architectural projects for 2022.
A luxurious multicultural complex
Located in the multicultural borough of Queens (New York, USA), the complex is due to open this February, and was designed by studio Margulies Hoelzli with collections by PORCELANOSA. It combines oriental and minimalist architecture, with pure forms that contribute to the functionality of the space. This is precisely the concept behind the luxurious Renaissance Hotel, scheduled to open in March.
The hotel's cutting-edge, symmetrical block-style façade features collections by Porcelanosa including Deep Light Grey (Solidker technical porcelain), Extreme White (STON-KER) and Ferroker Niquel (porcelain stoneware in an oxide finish), used for the cladding and floors. Within, you'll find 208 spacious rooms and all manner of facilities (cinema, shops, restaurants, tennis court, sports hall and Olympic swimming pool). The designers opted for Butech's concealed anchoring clip system to achieve the design and ensure the ventilated façade tiles were installed optimally. This hidden anchoring system conceals the installation joins and gives greater prominence to the ceramic surfaces.
Collections by Porcelanosa have also been used for the deluxe apartments in Tangram House South. The glazed structure offers unrivalled views of Manhattan. The property development features meticulously-designed interiors in which neutral colours, bespoke premium furnishings and natural textures play a lead role.
