Güemes House, una moderna casa de campo en piedra y cerámica

Architect Jacobo Gomis is building this family house in Bareyo, combining local materials with PORCELANOSA's most sophisticated collections.

Güemes House, a family home in Bareyo (Cantabria), introduces a new approach to the traditional architecture of the Cantabrian countryside by combining local materials and PORCELANOSA's ceramic collections.

A property open to nature

Designed by architect Jacobo Gomis and marketed by the construction company Viarcon, this family home maintains the traditional structure of the old highland country house with a rectangular layout with the main rooms (open-plan living-room and kitchen, dining room, bedroom and bathrooms) and an outdoor terrace with a swimming pool. This area leads into the house with Bottega Acero Antracita flooring by PORCELANOSA, which reproduces the colour and texture of cement in each room and blends with the local stone, which can be seen in the walls, the cornice and the main façade.

This is one of the most impressive parts of the house, because it combines XLight porcelain tiles by Urbatek with natural slate and Butech's façade systems, thus highlighting the nobility of the carved walls and ashlar. "The project seeks maximum integration with the landscape and environment with a single rectangular volume that opens spaces to the most favourable direction and protects them from the harshest," says Jacobo Gomis.

With a stately modern look, the interior is decorated in neutral beige, white and brown shades, as seen in the XTONE Aged Clay Nature limestone flooring.

These are colours that invite you to take refuge in the home and connect with nature through light woods, cotton textiles, soft finishes and Krion® surfaces. PORCELANOSA's mineral compact makes the kitchen brighter, highlighting the Emotions E4.70 island by Gamadecor, which improves hygiene and safety due to its antibacterial properties, resistance to extreme temperatures and almost total lack of porosity. The surface is complemented by the XLight tiling, Noken Spring taps, the generously proportioned Oxide Brown Nature table and Gamadecor furniture, which extends the kitchen into the dining room with its customisable XXL sofas.

In the bathrooms, a minimalist interior design has been chosen with white as the predominant colour. The Marmi China single-colour tiles by PORCELANOSA balance the light wood of the floor, the Krion® shower trays and the mirror with white backlighting.
