The Krion® range of adhesives has obtained the Greenguard and Greenguard Gold certifications, a recognition which guarantees the product’s low emissions of chemical substances, in compliance with the standards of regulation UL 2818 – 2013.
This news has been received with great pride by the PORCELANOSA Group firm, which has already gained the same certifications for sheets of the compact mineral. Thus, with this new achievement, the brand intends to “make a leap in quality, with the goal of making Krion® the global apex in solid surfaces”.
Dedicated to the certification of products which fulfil chemical emissions standards, the Greenguard Environmental Institute was founded in the United States in 2011 by Underwriters laboratories, and is currently one of the most prestigious organisations in the field.
To carry out its work, Greenguard bases its certification programme on the criteria established by the most important organisations in public health, among them the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). This is why these certifications are recognised by the foremost programmes of sustainable construction and building regulations established worldwide.
This environmental distinction helps producers to reduce the levels of their products’ and materials’ chemical emissions, improving air quality in the environment they are used in, at the same time as helping clients and users to identify materials with low levels of emissions.
