The 11th Porcelanosa Awards: futuristic design with Krion™ Solid Surface

Monserrat Alcaraz Cantó, Paula Vicente Ramis and Enrique Gamboa Francés have all secured a  place in the final in the Forward-Looking Projects’ category: Students

The Showroom design for the Porcelanosa Grupo combines the Krion™ compact mineral with natural stone, especially sandstone by L’Antic Colonial.

Monserrat Alcaraz Cantó, Paula Vicente Ramis and Enrique Gamboa, are the students who are also finalists at the 11th Porcelanosa architecture and interior design awards, thanks to their design for the PORCELANOSA Grupo Showroom.

The Project, which has a futuristic touch, is made up of an encapsulated core which simulates a space rocket and a desert-like environment, in which the pieces used have been provided by the eights firms from the PORCELANOSA Grupo.

A combination of lights with the Krion™ Solid Surface

The showroom is made up of a central part where the Krion™ mineral compact, thanks to the natural light, makes attractive organic shapes, through a combination of lights and shadows.  An optical illusion which turns into a distinctive element for this translucent exhibition, which is marked by the aesthetic innovation.

Regarding the Ston-Ker wall tiles and the pieces from L´Antic Colonial, they complement the design and balance out the neutral white of the Krion™ Solid Surface.

The natural stone tradition

As a sign to the most traditional materials and as a counterpoint to the futuristic aesthetic of  the rest of the elements, sandstone has been used on the structure as a support for the taps and bathroom furniture from Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms.

As a result, the project brings the aesthetical past and future together, creating a present where visual beauty takes over.
