Concrete: the slimline ceramic tile by Urbatek that looks like concrete

The search for beauty in the most used materials by architects and interior designers has resulted in Concrete; a new slimline Xlight ceramic model which looks like conventional concrete.

Since its showcase at the Cersaie 2013 trade fair in Bologna last September, the XLight collection by Urbatek has become very popular among architects and interior designers, so much so that it is currently in the production process and shall be put on sale shortly.

With unmistakeable technical characteristics such as its hallmark and outstanding aesthetic compared with the results of structural concrete, Concrete has uncountable benefits endorsed by the quality of PORCELANOSA Group products.

This new slimline XLight ceramic tile has a low weight which can reduce the execution periods on projects as you don’t need to build solid reinforced concrete walls. Furthermore it is a more hygienic option as the material is free of hollows and has a very low water absorption level, approximately 0.1%. Therefore, this glazed concrete is suitable for environments such as schools or hospitals, where hygiene levels are a priority.

Another quality of these large format slimline pieces is its stability and durability, as ceramic properties remain unaltered over time. XLight is an elaborated product which improves the building process and helps to reduce any technical problems which may arise, preventing the concrete formwork process which is much slower, unpredictable and expensive.

In addition, the shades achieved with ceramic can be controlled, therefore ensuring an even finish which also guarantees the refitting of any piece, if need be, once the project has finished.

It is undoubtedly a practical and aesthetic option which can facilitate the work of both the users and architecture and interior design professionals.
