The Aupa stool by Gamadecor was singled out in the Product Design Category and won the Red Dot Award, which is one of the most renowned acknowledgements in the design field.
With its motto “in search of excellence”, the Red Dots Award Organization holds this renowned international event on a yearly basis. On this occasion, manufacturers, designers and architects from 53 different countries entered nearly 5000 projects into the competition.
A jury composed of 40 members from all over the world was responsible for selecting the winning project, based on innovation, functionality, quality and ergonomics. The original and elegant design of Aupa, which can be a rocker or a stool, and is part of the auxiliary furniture of the Indoor Collections by Gamadecor, was praised by the jury.
The awards ceremony shall take place on the 7th June at the Aalto-Theater, in Essen, Germany. 1200 attendees are expected, amongst them, renowned professionals and representatives of large international design firms.
The winning products shall be displayed on the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2014/2015, in the Red Dot Design Museum and on its online exhibition www.red-dot.org/pd.
