The 12th Porcelanosa Awards Finalists: the Jacaranda house, a direct connection with the natural park of Cabo de Gata

The architect, José Francisco García-Sánchez, from the JFGS studio has reached the final at the 12th Porcelanosa Awards by presenting this residential project.

Overlooking Las Negras sea, this 400m2 house with three floors has made use of materials from the eight companies from the grupo, namely: the STON-KER ceramic stone and the Krion™ compact mineral.

Having the wild beaches of Cabo de Gata-Níjar (Almería) as a backdrop, this 400m2 house has reached the final at the 12th Porcelanosa Awards in the category of Best Design of the Year.

Casa Jacaranda, which is work by the architect, José Francisco García-Sánchez (JFGS studio), becomes a natural refuge protected by the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding cliffs. In order to protect the plants, the maritime environment in the area, and to blend in with the orography as well, García-Sánchez has installed the most sustainable collections from PORCELANOSA Grupo on all three floors in the house.

On the upper floor where the bedrooms and the garage are located, as well as in the living room, the kitchen, the production area, the bathroom and the guest bedroom (intermediate level); the Arizona Caliza collection from the STON-KER™ series has been opted for. The ceramic stone from PORCELANOSA Grupo is characterised by a sober and unified aesthetic that expands the capacity of the space, creating continuous areas with no separations at all.

El arquitecto José Francisco García-Sánchez del estudio JFGS ha llegado hasta la final de los XII Premios Porcelanosa con este proyecto residencial.

Because of its resistance to extreme temperatures, chemical and human impacts and its easy cleaning, this material has become an effective solution for large residential surfaces. Inspired by limestone and basalt, this series has also been installed both in the exterior and the interior of the pool. The anti-slip properties that this collection has go towards increasing safety in this area.

Inside the house, the KRION Snow White 1100 state-of-the-art Solid Surface leads the way, whose nuclear white enhances the natural light which comes in from outside. Its imperceptible joints, its low weight, its zero porosity, high durability and hygiene standards; all make this compact mineral the perfect resource for state-of-the-art houses.
