With a simple and sophisticated aesthetic project, Teresa Corbin, who is doing a Master’s in Advanced Infoarchitecture at CICE (Madrid), is one of the finalists at the 10th PORCELANOSA Grupo Architecture and Interior Design Awards, in the Student Forward-Looking Projects category. Her design is based on flexible work space which inspires well-being, thanks to a minimalist interior design and the use of cutting-edge natural materials from the PORCELANOSA Grupo.
The project
The design is created from a simple gesture which runs through the space and separates the work areas from the rest areas. Making the most of the potential and versatility of the KRION® Solid Surface, the architect has designed a modular system which divides up the different rooms which are adaptable to any space.
This system takes full advantage flexibility of the atmosphere, combining visual continuity with being able to be divided, which makes the different spaces: work, rest, the meeting room, the bathrooms, the kitchens, along with both the facilities or storage.
Design and materials
It is an architectural design which makes a commitment to the elegance and simplicity of both shapes and materials. Its range is cut down to: Modern Mult natural wood floor tile by L’Antic Colonial; through-body porcelain tiles in bathrooms and outdoor patios by Urbatek (Core Coal Nature); and KRION® Solid Surface in three different colours (Ash Grey, Pink Light and Asteroid Mocha) for the rest of the project elements.
The great lightness and formats of the KRION® pieces have made it possible for huge sheets to be used which allow for the facing to be set up with pieces from the floor to the ceiling. In addition, thanks to its versatility, it is possible to build all the fixed elements with a single material, creating solemn and elegant wall tiles that provide the space with a unique and original atmosphere.
In terms of bathroom equipment, pure cutting-edge lines have been opted for, like the Essence C sanitaryware and basins from Noken and the Lounge chrome-plated bathroom taps, also by the specialised firm in bathroom equipment from the PORCELANOSA Grupo.
