Urbatek technical porcelain gains the UPEC certification

Urbatek’s collections of technical porcelain have gained the French UPEC certification from the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB). This is a regulation which guarantees the suitability of the PORCELANOSA Group’s firm’s materials for their installation in floors of spaces intended for different uses, from hotels, hospitals and airports to restaurants, shops or educational establishments.

To obtain the certification, Urbatek’s materials have had to pass rigorous quality controls over nine months. Each one of the letters of UPEC references one of the characteristics evaluated: UsurePoinçonnementEau y agents Chimiques (use, impact, water and chemical agents).

Thus the Avenue, Concrete, City, Max, Neo, Deep, Thais, Town and Yazz collections by Urbatek, among others, have successfully passed these tests, showing resistance to wear from steps, piercing, the effects of moisture and the most common chemical agents such as detergents.

Endorsed by the French CSTB institute and classified within the NF certification, the UPEC certification is a collective certification framework which is highly valued in the French market as a guarantee of the safety of products and services. In this sense, it certifies that the technical porcelain by Urbatek meets the needs of this market and fulfils safety and suitability for use characteristics and the required quality regulations, established based on relevant French, European and international certifications.
