Just one month away from the 8th Architecture and Interior Design Awards Ceremony announced by PORCELANOSA Group, we now know the venue where the ceremony will take place on May 29th.
Like every year, one of the architectural gems of Madrid has been the chosen place for the event. In this 8th edition of the competition, the Royal Hall in the prestigious Ritz Hotel in Madrid will be the venue where the names of the awarded winners will be revealed.
Located in the heart of Madrid’s Golden Triangle, the Ritz Hotel by Belmond has conserved its elegance since its construction in 1910 at King Alfonso XIII’s will. It is a baroque-styled palace which has accommodated selected guests, such as aristocrats and top leaders worldwide.
At present, the symbolic building’s façade is undergoing a refurbishment. The renowned architect Rafael de La-Hoz is the person in charge of this project which is intended to make the building recover the brightness it owned when it was designed by César Ritz at the beginning of 20th century.
The gala dinner and the awards ceremony will take place in the Royal Hall, the largest one in the Ritz Hotel, characterised by its wonderful stage with marquetry inlay and its large wide windows. A large-scaled mirror dominates the back of this hundred-year-old hall, which has been witness to important meetings and presentations.
As in previous years, the 8th Architecture and Interior Design Awards will count on the verdict of a jury comprised of renowned international professionals, such as Carlos Jiménez (Carlos Jiménez Studio), Fermín Vázquez (b720 Arquitectos), Marc Hertrich & NicolasAdnet (Studio MHNA), Joanna Biggs (Ga-Design International) and Jordan Goldstein (Gensler).
