In our tour through the finalists in the Future Projects category during the latest edition of the Architecture and Interior Design Awards, organized by PORCELANOSA Grupo, we highlighted the project by Héctor Romero in the Professionals section.
Héctor Romero, from Volteo studio in Madrid, has conceived the interior of a yacht designed under the concept of his own creation: a sketch of himself. Thus, the result is a self-reference of the continent fused with its content.
To make this innovative concept a reality, the Solid Surface Krion® has been opted for, the latest generation mineral compact developed by PORCELANOSA Grupo. Its versatility allowed us to imagine a design similar to paper in appearance but highly resistant, with which it develops contours, shapes and folds in ceilings, furniture and wall tiles.
Outside, a solarium is highlighted and the rooftop floor distribution houses the control area, the living area, the kitchen and the dining room. In the kitchen, the innovative and technically superior Blanco ghost Emotions e3.oo kitchen by Gamadecor has been opted for.
Both in the kitchen and the dining room, the low moisture absorption and highly resistant technical porcelain floor tile On Black Timber by Urbatek, with a semi-polished finish which combines with matte polished areas.
To get more dynamism, the living-room area presents a circular shape and it is rotatable, a resource also used on the exterior top floor and it allows variation in the orientation of the rest.
Downstairs, the distribution turns around the staircase where there are two main cabins and two guest cabins with exterior window and a skylight beneath the solarium, besides four bathrooms, equipped with basins and sanitaryware materials by Noken, as well as the use of Lounge taps, designed by Simone Micheli, which give a minimalist touch to the bathrooms design.
All this, under the dominance of white, gray and black, and the warmth of wood in the cabin areas stand out because of the use of Linkfloor Wet Technic Cardiff 1L laminate flooring by L’Antic Colonial as a floor tile and the Oxo Modern Line wall tile with reliefs in white by Porcelanosa. This wall tile draws gentle waves that recall the pleasant rolling sea.
The designer, who won first prize in this same category in the previous edition of the Porcelanosa Awards, proposes a stylish and avant-garde navigation.
