The 8th PORCELANOSA Grupo Awards Finalists: Estefanía Álvarez Micó in Future Projects- Professionals

Sail the seas on board a yacht capable of mastering the four elements of nature can become an unparalleled experience in the middle of the ocean. Today we focus on the modern and sophisticated Estefania Alvarez Micó’s boat proposal, finalist project in the 8th Architecture and Interior Design Awards from PORCELANOSA Grupo in the Future Projects- Professionals category.

To accomplish its symbolism based on the force of water, earth, air and fire, Estefanía Álvarez Micó, from the EA Interior design firm in Villena, Alicante, has set up the yacht around four clearly distinguished sections. In all of them, materials and products fromthe PORCELANOSA Group characterized by their high quality and aesthetic purity have been used.

The master cabin is located in the first section. This section is set on the ground floor, in the closest area to the sea, hence it has been dedicated to the water element. Referring to the essence of the ocean,  the wall tiles from Porcelanosa plays a leading role in this room, which in its Antique Blue series of decorated ceramic tiles and the Oxo White Hannover rectified marble appearance mosaic, they are capable of providing exquisite elegance to the room. However, floor tiles come from the firm, Urbatek, whose high resistance technical porcelain is ideal for both demanding and wet areas, usual on a boat of this type. In this case, the chosen through-body porcelain have been Deep White Nature; Concrete Beige Lappato and Concrete Beige Nature. The KRION® Solid Surface compact mineral. KRION® Solid Surface is also starring in the water element area, through the dynamism and sophistication of the bathtub from the Unique series and the addition of several thermo curved wall tile areas in its KRION® White Nature version.

Furthermore, on the mezzanine, we find the tribute to the fire element. This section is the guest cabin, whose remarkable object is a thread of fire. The warmth is one of the attributes that define this room, marked by a chromatic contrast between floor and wall tiles. The elegance that is provided by the technical porcelain from Urbatek in its Stuc Black Nature version and the Anthracite Arizona mosaic from Porcelanosa all stand out. For the bathroom equipment, the Unique floor mounted shower tray from Systempool has been opted for, made of KRION® acrylic stone, as well as the exquisite taps and sanitary ware from Noken, single lever bath mixer, single lever basin and wall hung pan mixer, all from MOOD Collection by Luis Vidal + Architects.

We go to the main floor to be seduced by the earth element, the section where the kitchen is located, along with both the living room and dining room. Here the rooms are unified with modules full of stones and sand that conjure up shapes similar to river stones. The firm, Gamadecor, from the PORCELANOSA Grupo has been chosen by the interior designer, Estefanía Álvarez, for the kitchen furniture which stands out thanks to the 4.00 matte quartzite lacquer and the 6.00 plated copper oak Indoor Collection; and the chair and the stool in Lime White Seven Oak from Emotions kitchenL’Antic Colonial also provides natural materials for coating and flooring the rooms, such as the floor tiles in  Linkfloor Wet Technic London and Linkfloor Wet Technic Glasgow vinyl flooring; or the Brown Wood Square natural wood mosaic.

The air element materializes where the boat comes into direct contact with the wind. This is the flybridge and the sundeck, areas that have been set in light white and in the green colour that plants provide. For this section, demanding materials such as the Styledeck Plus outdoor decking from L’Antic Colonial have been used on flooring or the latest generation KRION® White Nature compact mineral.

A seductive and innovative yacht project, with the purity and nature of the four elements.
