PORCELANOSA Group projects: La Juliana house by De Sousa Arquitectos

A keen commitment to driving energy efficiency in each of their projects has led the leaders of the architect’s studio De Sousa Arquitectos to use construction materials and equipment by the PORCELANOSA Group firms to work on their La Juliana residence project.In order to lessen the amount of energy consumed for the building’s air conditioning, the architects have chosen a Butech ventilated façade, combined with radiant floor heating and cooling supplied by solar panels. The ventilated façade comprises a combination of ceramic tiles from the Factory Moka and Cemento Manhatan collections, both by Porcelanosa. Particularly outstanding is the building’s rear façade structure, with its large volume in the shape of a prism that projects to form a rear porch.Materials by the Porcelanosa Group firms have also been used in the interior of the house. It is divided into two floors connected by a modern staircase, where each technical tread step is paved with Pure Beige Nature technical porcelain tiles by Urbatek. The house also boasts a large basement accessed by a staircase with Ferroker Caldera ceramic flooring by Venis.The house’s various bathrooms have been equipped with Noken fittings, using Firenze Oceano, Glass Acido and Calacata Gold ceramic wall tiles, and Extreme White ceramic floor tiles, all by Porcelanosa. The ground floor bathroom is decorated with Moon Beige Sandstone mosaic by L’Antic Colonial in combination with Lavagna Blanco ceramic wall tiles by Venis.In order to unify the design throughout all of the rooms in the house, the designers used Kenya Arena ceramic floor tiles by Porcelanosa. The kitchen is decorated with Glass Blanco ceramic wall tiles by Porcelanosa, and equipped with Gamadecor kitchen fittings. The laundry room is also lined with Porcelanosa ceramic tiles, this time using the Yakarta
