The Mood bathroom collection designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and Luis Vidal + Architects for Noken does not cease to amaze us. The PORCELANOSA Group company that is specialised in bathroom fittings recently showcased a new wood-inspired model for this avant-garde collection.
Two new wood finishes complete the Mood palette, uniting innovation and tradition with a new proposal that blends a technological design with wood handcrafts.
More stability and damp resistance was achieved by using thick multilayered birch wood on top of which walnut and oak finishes are applied.
In its aim to create a practical bathroom which goes beyond the collection’s aesthetics, different elements were integrated on the wall, therefore highlighting the accessories which mark the collection’s personality.
One of the most striking results is the countertop for the Mood basin which integrates a towel rail and space for the soap dispenser on the same surface. The countertop comes in two sizes: a 120 cm version with a practical pivoted opening draw and a 75 cm compact model for smaller spaces.
The most conspicuous appearance is the suspended toilet which integrates a push button with the soft-close seat on the same line. A backlit mirror and other modular complements complete Noken’s modern unit.
The originality of the design and innovation proposed by Mood was awarded with the Bathroom Product Innovation of the Year 2013 by the KBBreview magazine, the Green Good Design 2013 Award and the 100% Design Award for bathroom designs.
