The American studio Jahn is the one in charge of the Spacecraft, one of the Signature Spaces by L’Antic Colonial. The design was recently shown in the 22nd International Global Architecture Exhibition by PORCELANOSA Group and it will remain in the firm’s headquarters all year long.
With this design, Jahn’s Chief Executive Officer, Francisco J. Gonzalez-Pulido, wanted to step up a gear with regard to the traditional use of materials further than its mere decorative function. Hence, the architect conceives a well-equipped adaptable space to cover all the habitual necessities with the L’Antic Colonial natural materials in a 25 square-metre surface.
The most routine functions are gathered in the space perimeter, covered by natural leather on the inside of the wood created by the L’Antic Colonial Mini Eden Dark Grey parquet. Furniture and shelving have been strategically placed in the perimeter area, saving the central area for more creative activities.
With the aim of adapting the space to the precise necessities of the moment, a big central module accommodating the bathroom has been included. It has been covered with Thassos Ice White Pulido marble. The idea of the project was for the module to be moved according to the necessities of the moment, thanks to a railing system.
As far as the flooring is concerned, Jahn’s team has chosen a combination of the following marbles: Habana Dark Pulido and Capuccino Grey Pulido. The bathroom area has also been equipped with materials by L’Antic Colonial, such as the Blanco Calacatta Pulido marble used in the basin, specifically designed for this space.
With more than 75 years of experience, the international Jahn studio provides their projects with a creative design. It has become a worldwide reference with regard to innovation in design and sustainability with an eye for detail, which has taken the firm to be awarded with numerous prizes.
