The 11th Porcelanosa Awards: A two-volume conceptual house in La Cañada

The architect, Antonio Comes, from the Antonio Altarriba Comes studio, has achieved in becoming a finalist at the 11th Architecture and Design Porcelanosa Awards in the Professional category of Completed Projects.

The single-family-home, located in the La Cañada area in Paterna, Valencia, has two combined areas in order to create a continuous space full of brightness.

Clear open atmospheres done by L´Antic Colonial

The house is characterised by its natural colour scheme, the result of the combination of pure white and natural wood from the Michigan Clear floor tiles by L´Antic Colonial.

The brightness comes from the interior patio, which makes the most of the natural light, joining the different rooms in a uniform way through empty spaces and double heights. The architectural procedure, where the installations are channelled through an exterior orientation, play a leading role when it comes to building a clear open atmosphere.

State-of-the-art kitchens with Gamadecor and Krion®

The kitchen, located on the ground floor and with a glazed connection to the garden, counts on kitchen furniture by Gamadecor. The purity of the edges is the result of having used KrionTM Solid Surface on the worktop and the sink.

The intimate atmosphere of the bathroom has been provided with the Dover Caliza wall tiles from Porcelanosa, which together with the sanitaryware and shower heads from Noken Porcelanosa Bathrooms and the basin manufactured with KrionTM Snow White mineral compact, allow for the creation of a chic space which is full of constructive solidity.

Colour balance under the Urbatek seal

The outside landscaped area keeps the pure style of the house, while including colour touches which break away from the colour balance in the interior area. The terrace, connected in a glazed way to the kitchen and living room, uses the Stuc sandstone floor tiles by Urbatek. We are dealing with a material which remains unalterable when up against humidity and high traffic. Architectural resistance.

A conceptual house where users maintain their privacy, thanks to the balance of constructive elements and volume diversity. The foundation for the house of the future.
