Venis obtains Environmental Certification thanks to its sustainable work

Venis has received Environmental Certification by the Department of Infrastructures, Territory and Environment, in acknowledgement of the company’s work made on preserving the environment.

The company specialised in ceramic floorings and coverings at PORCELANOSA Group has invested 2.2 million Euros into the improvement of its facilities and increase of environmental protection in concept of waste.

Furthermore, the company has started using new printing machines which complete ceramic tile decorations. A benefit of this new machinery is that it reduces chemical waste generated from the production process, in comparison with other mechanisms used in ceramic colouring processes. Moreover, this new process uses fewer raw materials, therefore reducing the thickness of the pieces.

The head of Environmental Quality, Vicente Tejedo, recently visited the facilities at Venis, to give them the Certification. Mr Tejedo was received by Manuel Colonques, the manager of Venis, as well as the managing director of PORCELANOSA Group, María José Soriano. Besides awarding the company with the distinction, he visited the company’s facilities and was especially interested in the improvements made to benefit the planet’s sustainability.

We must also underline that all the companies at PORCELANOSA Group have been developing more sustainable ceramic production programmes for years. The result of this work is evident in their commitment to cogeneration, recycling of raw materials, purifying water and improving energy efficiency. These measures undoubtedly prove the company’s commitment to the environment.
