The 9th PORCELANOSA Group Awards: The Five Senses Granada in Completed Projects

Living a hotel experience that enlivens the five senses is possible in Granada, and it is carried out by Quintas Gonzalez Architects. This architecture studio, created by both Laura Gonzalez Romero and Miguel Angel Quintas Rodriguez, is the author of the experiential Five Senses Rooms & Suites, a hotel in the Andalusian city centre that links feelings with both pure art and historical value.

As Granada has so much heritage, it is really worth getting to know both the artistic and architectural legacy. Hence, this thematic hotel, a finalist at the 9th Architecture and Interior Design Awards, Completed Projects category, focuses its attention mainly on flavours, aromas and textures from the emblematic city that houses it.

The intention is to provide guests with a new way of seeing the city, a complete journey through the experiences that we can have in Granada. Exquisiteness and charm from the  PORCELANOSA Group and its products and materials that delight in every room in every step. Decorated wall tiles such as Wave White or Diamond White from Venis are capable of conveying elegance to its most precious corners, with that simplicity and minimalism that only the colour white is capable of providing.

In this colour, a symbol of purity, the Glaciar wall tiles, or the KRION® Solid Surface compact mineral are also present, offering versatility and adaptability to this famous avant-garde hotel, and furthermore, the acrylic stone is the material used to shape the most unique and dynamic pieces of furniture. It is present predominantly in its most unspoilt version, the 1100 KRION® Snow White, but also incorporated into the Earth Nature Series finish.

The grey tones or cement inspiration also complement the serenity and minimal style perfectly, which is just what Five Senses offers. Therefore, for the flooring, Quintas Gonzalez Architects opted for the high quality and high traffic resistance models such as the through-body Urbatek Fossil Grey Texture porcelain tile from Urbatek, combined with the glacier skirting board from Venis.

For the bathrooms, the design equipment from Noken has been counted on, which also offers its technology and sustainability through the latest in single lever bidets, showers and basins. The chosen series were Hotels and NK-One, both designed to optimally meet the contract projects.

In terms of design, the Five Senses Granada enables the senses and emotions to merge through a tour around the different floors. Different colours and sensations that allow, absorb and enjoy the essence of the city of the Alhambra and the Albaicin from within. The concept involves the creation of large, open areas, with a lot of lighting and functional furniture, ensuring comfort and immersing the guest in the most beautiful and historical Granada.
