The olive and its designation of origin is the product in which the design by the Engel & Bailey studio from Barcelona was based on to create “Oli Oliva”, its concept-store. This unique project was a finalist at the 9th PORCELANOSA Architecture and Interior Design Awards, in the Professional Forward-Looking Projects, thanks to the masterful use made of the materials and products from the PORCELANOSA Group.
The olive and its derivatives; oil, olives for food and cosmetic products made from their properties, are the source of inspiration for this dining-restaurant store. With regard to the “Oli Oliva” ’s commercial purpose, an attractive space for customer enjoyment was sought after, with the essence of the olive and its oils throughout the entire interior design. In addition to selling products and offering tastings.
With gold, white and anthracite colours, Engel & Bailey created a bright space with large contrasts in which warmth stands out.
The image of oil drops in stamped water, done by the KRION® Solid Surface compact mineral, underlines the design which even invites us to enter from outside. Thanks to its Thermocurvability properties and high degree of wear and tear resistance, this acrylic stone is perfect for integrating in almost any part of this project. In fact, it covers nearly all the ceilings in this project in its yellow KRION® and KRION® XLight version. The cutting-edge material from Systempool is also present on the outdoor walls, indoor structures, furniture, kitchen countertop and bathrooms. As a final detail, we find the logo “Oli Oliva”, made by KRION® through a backlit unit.
Meanwhile, for the floor tiles, it had stylish ceramic projects from Porcelanosa such as the PAR-KER Chester Anthracite ceramic parquet. This collection, inspired by the natural wood, has the maximum guarantee and it is present on the showroom floors, in the restaurant, in the kitchen and bathrooms. In the private area we find the full-body porcelain tile from Urbatek, City.
Noken has been the firm in charge of the bathroom equipment, through collections such as Ciclo Gercoat or Mood for both bathrooms and sanitaryware respectively.
A space in which the olive is the main attraction, designed to be located in the Glorias Shopping Centre in Barcelona.
