The 8th Porcelanosa Award finalists: Laura Marquina, in Future Projects – Students

We continue on board with our journey with the project finalists in the category of the 8th Architecture and Interior Design Awards forward-looking projects, organized by the PORCELANOSA Group, and we decide to drop anchor on the Laura Marquina Aguarón’s avant-garde project , a student at the School of Design of Aragon.

Laura Marquina imagines a Rodman Muse 74 model yacht where freedom, design and entertainment coexist to the delight of six sailors at sea.

Therefore, the space has been designed in order to be able to enjoy every corner to the fullest under the concepts of light, space and continuity between rooms. Concepts that apply to colours and shapes in order to unify and merge the most structural parts with decorative and functional ones, both outdoors and indoors.

Throughout every room, Laura Marquina creates a skin like  wall tile made of Solid Surface KRION® Solid Surface and inspired by the shape of fish scales. She configures different angles and triangular openings to suit every corner, filling the outside gaps, the lighting and at the same time, hiding the installation in an aesthetic and functional way.

Thus, natural light permeates the rooms during the day through the openings of this skin, and at night it is artificial light that bathes the yacht by using the backlight in the KRION® compact mineral.

Outdoor floor tiles are covered by the anti-slip Styledeck Plus flooring in Grey colour by L’Antic Colonial, and the interior stands out because of the technical resistant porcelain by Urbatek Code Coal in nature 100x300cm format finish.

If we pay attention to the indoor wall tiles, the waves in the 33x100cm Venis Park porcelain in Grey and White colours stand out.

The bathrooms have been equipped with theTetris Nogal Siena suite by Gamadecor as bathroom furniture, accompanied by the MOOD collection from Noken in bathroom, shower and sanitaryware taps.

Gamadecor is evident in the kitchens in the project with its emotions 2.30 technological kitchen in textured white finish and Butech is responsible for providing clean finishes and modern design with decorative profiles in corners Pro-mate 3 in 12.5mm chromed finish.

The result is an elegant ship with innovative aesthetic, faithful to the philosophy of Porcelanosa in light and neutral colours, clean lines, unifying and amplifying each room of Rodman Muse 74 with a light and fresh design.
