Today we introduce another one of the great professionals who will be a part of the jury at 10th PORCELANOSA Architecture and Interior Design Awards, and her name is Sandra Tarruella from the Tarruella Trenchs Studio. A studio based in Barcelona, led by Sandra Tarruella and Ricard Trenchs, who define themselves as a team capable of “creating spaces which cause excitement”.
Sandra Tarruella began her professional career in 1984 designing one of the most emblematic restaurants from the Grupo Tragaluz. Later, she founded Tarruella-Lopez and Tarruella Interior Designers, and currently, she manages the Tarruella Trenchs Studio, along with Ricard Trenchs, her partner.
After more than a decade working together, Tarruella and Trenchs have designed a studio that works solely for their clients’ needs, and with a view to the architecture of the future, but reviewing and respecting the past at the same time. Therefore, through a thorough rigour in technical development and experience in the architecture and interior design sector, the Tarruella Trenchs Studio has managed to base its work on the knowledge and complexity of traditional processes, design culture, the study and investigation of new building systems and materials.
Tarruella Trenchs is a fully integrated studio capable of participating in all phases of the development of any project; from the concept to the execution in the fields of architecture and interior design. They can also implement graphic design services, naming, merchandising, landscaping and even work related to budget management or licensing.
Due to its great professional career and quality, innovation and avant-garde design in its many completed projects, Tarruella Trenchs is now an award-winning studio, as well as its highlighted presence in the media, lectures and specialised press. It is also an outstanding office in the execution of refurbishments and hotel projects, as well as commercial, ephemeral spaces and offices. Among its most renowned projects, restaurants in Madrid such as “La Bien Aparecida”, or “La Primera”; the Rocambolesc Ice Cream, the H10 Casa Mimosa Hotel or the Celeri Restaurant in Barcelona all stand out; The “Marqués de Murrieta” wine cellars in Logroño; the “Al Tun Tún” or “Turqueta” restaurants in Valencia, among others.
Trenchs Studio is working on its international expansion with projects in North America, the Middle East and other European countries.
At the 10th PORCELANOSA Group Awards, Tarruella Trenchs Studio will also be on the jury with Ortiz Leon Architects, Oscar Lucien from Maison Numero 20 Rive Gauche and Tim Bowder-Ridger from Conran + Partners.
