Family Villa: tradition and modernity in the heart of the Czech countryside

This residential project, which won first prize at the PIPAs, combines tradition and innovation in its indoor and outdoor spaces.

This single-family residence is located on the top of a hill. Located in the town of Trněný Újezd (Czech Republic), this project spans 4,000 m2. A perfect fusion of traditional architecture and contemporary design. Built on the foundations of five former farmhouses, the rural aesthetic is integrated with modern functionality.

The exterior design of Family Villa features three interconnected buildings with classic pitched roofs, which blend harmoniously into the village landscape. Glass collars connect the main residence with the garage and a floating guest house. The garage and guest house are covered with artificial turf. The modern character is accentuated by white aluminium structures and stainless steel climbing cables.

The façade and roof of the main villa are clad in wood-effect ceramic Par-ker® Devon Bone (Porcelanosa). With great success, these pieces have been placed in a herringbone pattern -uncommon in façades-, thus achieving an original visual image.

The interior spaces have high sloping ceilings, especially in the children’s bathroom and the master bathroom. One of the bathrooms has a warm style, using Devon Bone for the floor and wall tiles. This is complemented by the bathtub and countertop made with Krion® K-Life 1100, as well as the lavabo double Unique (Krion). As a point of contrast, the Round taps and Acro Compact sanitaryware in Matte Black finish, by Noken, have been used.

A unique award-winning design

Inside, neutral tones, wood-effect and concrete-effect ceramics create an aesthetic that is consistent with the natural surroundings. The garden includes a Corten steel library with integrated barbecue. In addition, a unique fireplace has been installed on the lawn, a suspended gazebo and recreational elements.

This residential development is an example of the sophisticated fusion of traditional and modern elements, creating a truly distinctive residence. An innovative and intelligent design, which won the first prize at the 3rd edition of the Porcelanosa International Project Award (PIPA).
