The 11th Porcelanosa Awards, the openings of Playa del Carmen in Mexico and Reading in the UK, as well as the 30th anniversary year of the firm’s presence in France, are some of this year’s main events.
Premium HIGHKER ceramic, the Pure collection by Pure de Yonoh and Lignage by Ramón Esteve have marked 2018 down as a year where the signature pieces have played the leading role.
The PORCELANOSA Group takes stock of 2018 with the most standout events of the year. Over these past twelve months, the firm has presented a huge number of innovative products, as well as extending its distribution network by opening new stores all over the world.
The new showroom in Reading has strengthened the PORCELANOSA Group’s positioning in the UK. An international expansion which has reached Latin America, with the opening of a new store in Playa del Carmen, in Riviera Maya in Mexico. The PORCELANOSA Group has celebrated its 30 years anniversary in France with 40 stores around over the country.
The 11th Porcelanosa Awards recognised the new talents, and the most outstanding architectural projects nationally and internationally alike. A yearly event which took place in the Hotel Villa Magna in Madrid, with Nieves Álvarez as the presenter.
Ceramic innovation for integral housing
The research and technological advances developed by the firm, Porcelanosa, led to the creation of HIGHKER. Premium Ceramic in a large format which gives the spaces elegance and spaciousness as well. Features which can also be found in Forest from PARKERTM. The ceramic parquet with 95% recycled material, has the ISO 14021 certification, therefore being positioned as the ideal sustainable material for contract projects.
In order to get ahead of the trends which will be set by future interior design and the new spaces, the eight firms from the PORCELANOSA Group are continuously having their collections renovated with new formats, colours and shapes. A clear example of this is Venis, which has emulated three-dimensional illusions with the latest ranges from Starwood and it has extended the Newport collection, which is inspired by the chromatic scale of cement.
L’Antic Colonial banks on the multicolour geometry with the Touch ceramic. Urbatek has reinterpreted the industrial style of early 20th century with XLight Arcan, the porcelain in a rust composition.
Signature bathrooms have been one of the strongest commitments in 2018. The presented collections have gone back to organic shapes, as well as pure colour. This can be found in the Pure series by Yonoh, manufactured with KRIONTM. Between the past, present and future of the design, one can find the Lignage taps by Ramón Esteve. Cutting-edge classicism present in the Noken bathroom firm.
The integration of the equipment into the space is the main premise that Gamadecor has followed in its latest kitchen creations. The new 7.3 Roble Negro is characterised by its wide XLight worktop and a hidden-cupboard system. Butech has developed intelligent building systems for better comfort at home, where it is also worth highlighting the new underfloor heating.
Strong presence in international design
Cersaie, Maison&Objet or the PORCELANOSA Group International Exhibition are some of the main events which the firm attended in 2018. It was at those events where the latest and main designs and solutions for integral housing were presented.
The contract sector and real estate development have become two areas of great importance for the PORCELANOSA Group. The Orgatec fair in Cologne, Interihotel in Barcelona or Equip’Hotel in Paris, have made it possible for the firm to present its designs in hotel equipment. In the International Real Estate Exhibition in Madrid, (SIMA) some of the designs intended for large buildings were presented, as well as the PORCELANOSA Partners programme being promoted.
Commitment to architecture
The coming together of the PORCELANOSA Group, and architecture and interior design, have made it possible for some of the main representatives to have materials from the firm incorporated into their projects. Ramón Esteve and Fran Silvestre improved the possibilities of the Casa de la Huerta and the Casa de la Brisa with the Premium materials.
The Nobu de Marbella Hotel has portrayed the taste and colours of modern Japan into the collections from Venis, L’Antic Colonial, Noken and Urbatek. The Trinquet de Pelayo restaurant in Valencia has counted on the pieces from L’Antic Colonial, Noken and Butech to have the space renovated without losing the essence of Valencian pilota, which is a traditional handball sport played in the Valencian Community.
Discovering new materials and textures has been the main aim of the PORCELANOSA Group in 2018. A lively design that looks for answers.
