PORCELANOSA Group projects: Sojo Spa. A world of wellness materials

There are areas designed for healing the body and mind, places in which we can escape from the stresses of everyday life, where our only concern is taking care of ourselves. Following this premise, “Sojo Spa” was created, a 70,000 square metre haven that creates an entire and unequalled world of wellness inside. A world designed for people’s enjoyment, and one that responds to the well-being and relaxation requirements of its members.

This newly opened spa resort is in Edgewater, New Jersey. It includes stunning spaces dedicated to deluxe treatments, as well as a wellness oasis with relaxing baths, saunas and rejuvenating pools.

Wood and marble: the perfect duo for wellness atmospheres

In this project, done by the architectural studio, “Virgona & Virgona Architects“, and the interior designer, Eunmi Hwang, we find products from the different firms belonging to the PORCELANOSA Group, with special focus on white marble and light-coloured wood indoors. The combination of noble materials such as stone and natural wood provides the Sojo Spa with personality and character. Wood provides warmth and craftsmanship, whereas the Carrara Blanco and Calacata Gold wall tiles by Porcelanosa, together with the Persian White Pullido marble by L’Antic Colonial give elegance and harmony to the whole set.

For the bathing areas, Oxford Antracita and Oxford Castaño floor tiles have been used; as well as wall tiles with volume such as Park Linear Silver, Mosaic Rodano Acero or Park Steel by Porcelanosa. Both materials combine perfectly, creating an atmosphere capable of carrying the user into the depths of nature.

Bathrooms that evoke a unique shower experience

As well as that, the compact mineral KRION® Solid Surface also acquires special relevance in the project. The Systempool acrylic stone is used for benches, basins and tailor-made bathroom units, thanks to its versatility and flexibility.

KRION® is an ideal material for these kinds of wellness atmospheres because of its antibacterial properties, easy cleaning and maintenance, durability and purity. Similarly, the KRION® Snow White model is also included in reception desks, restaurants, outdoors, as well as in the perfumery area.

In addition, the Sojo Spa bathrooms have the bathroom equipment by Noken. The Smart shower column, as well as the basin taps from the Hotel and Bela collection are the elements that aim to give continuity to the revitalising shower experience on which this spa resort is based.

For its part, URBATEK provides materials in the shape of Soul White Pulido and Soul Bone. Pieces capable of providing a differentiating character to any space thanks to the luminosity and brightness which this type of full through-body porcelain tile offers.

Other materials that have been installed are the Avenue Beige wall tile and the Ramsey floor tile by Venis; and the Aislate Kashmir, Forest and Delhi designs by L’Antic Colonial. All of them perfectly placed thanks to Butech, the firm specialising in building systems.
