PORCELANOSA Grupo Projects: Marble and wood inspiration in a futuristic house

The architect, María Fernández Torrado, has designed this project with materials from Porcelanosa, Venis, Urbatek, Noken, Krion and Butech.

Casa Artium has won different awards, such as: the Interior Design Special Mention from the Architecture and Interior Design Ceramics Awards by ASCER, and the Coverings’20 Award.

Casa Artium is a house in the Spanish city of Albacete, which has been done by the architect, María Fernández Torrado, in which six of the eight companies which make up PORCELANOSA Grupo have seen their designs and products used.

The mixture of wood and marble is the main attraction in this project. It transmits great aesthetic and sensory harmony; beauty which is materialised through the fusion between nature and the exclusive, elegant and functional ceramic collections that have been used.

Another highlight is the important innovation used in its design. The house has won national and international awards, with special mentions at the ASCER (Spanish Association of Ceramic Tile and Floor tile Manufacturers) Architecture and Interior Design Ceramics Awards and The Coverings Installation & Design Awards.

White: the key tone star

White stands out in Casa Artium through its large-sized wall tiles. One example of this is the Marmi China XL by Porcelanosa and Kala White collections in a Polished finish from XLight Premium by Urbatek. The versatility of XLight has allowed elements like the main door Series to be coated. These reproduce the marble stone perfectly due to their contrasts and shades which create amazing luminous combinations. The wall tiles with reliefs and decorative motifs from the Spiga Topo series by Porcelanosa and Ona Blanco by Venis enhance the character of the atmosphere.

In the bathrooms, the tonality of the functional elements also revolves around the purity of white. Wall-hung toilets from the Urban collection by Noken and KrionTM K·Life worktops, situated in bathrooms and the kitchen, help to project homogeneous and minimalist lines. Simplicity, design and practicality carried out by the two companies from the Group with top quality products. To fill the joints, the high-performance cementitious material Colorstuck Rapid in moka and white and Colorstuck Especial by Butech were used. This material has a wide range of finishes, adapted to the chromatic range of floor tiles and wall tiles, with the aim of making the joints go unnoticed.
