PORCELANOSA Group Projects: This property, in Petrer, combines architectural minimalism with pop art interior design

Studio Pablo Muñoz Payá Arquitectos built the property, opting for premium collections by PORCELANOSA Group.

The combinations of natural wood and ceramics are unified by white, beige, and brown tones; with geometric decorative accents providing the home with a central aesthetic.

The family home in Petrer (Alicante) features Mediterranean interior design combined with a pop art aesthetic, with décor based on geometric motifs, natural wood, and neutral colours. The architectural concept is the vision of studio Pablo Muñoz Payá Arquitectos, for the renovation of Reforma Explanada (the name of the property).

Central to the fusion of styles and structures are premium collections from PORCELANOSA Group, with the same design used throughout the property’s 85 square metres to interconnect the various rooms.

Transforming space

“We have created a space in which space itself is the main feature: this is particularly prominent in the way the two living room and kitchen spaces have one sole partition to divide them – a sliding glass partition that gives us a visual connection between the rooms”, explain the Pablo Muñoz Payá architects.

This connection between the living room and kitchen has been achieved with Ice Minnesota Honey wall tiles. The Starwood collection recreates the grain and shades of natural wood, but with the technical properties of ceramic tiles, adding improved warmth and resistance to spaces.

This rustic ambience is further enhanced by AC4 Baltic 1L Copenhague laminate flooring by L’Antic Colonial. Used throughout the property, the laminate floor reinforces the sense of endless space, and the grain echoes natural oak wood.

The pieces have also been used to give shape to the kitchen and the headboard in the main bedroom. “The oak tone and indirect lighting evoke a way of feeling the space, and transforming it”, note the architects.

At this property, light is key. Above all in the bathroom, where Crystal White wall tiles from Venis expand the aesthetic possibilities of the area, with white tiles being interspersed with natural wood furnishings.
