PORCELANOSA Group Projects: Casa Areia in Porto, an extra-bright property designed to enjoy

The architect Raulino Silva has created this single-family home with a minimalist design of pure lines enriched with the PORCELANOSA Group Premium collections.

A short distance from the quiet Areia beach (Vila do Conde, Porto), this minimalist single-family home blends into the Portuguese landscape thanks to its balanced volumes and pure lines.

The natural light of Porto in every corner

A "less is more" attitude that Raulino Silva, the project's architect, has been able to carry out using the PORCELANOSA Group Premium collections. The most striking feature of this two-storey house is its continuous design consisting of open structures, allowing natural light to filter through into each room and enhancing that sensation of an intimate retreat.

This occurs in the living room, which is connected to the kitchen and the outdoor swimming pool by means of the Walnut Linkfloor Air Hotel from L'Antic Colonial (the flooring used throughout property). This cherry wood-inspired vinyl affords greater luminosity and safety to each area thanks to its reduced thickness and resistance to high temperatures, impacts and chemicals.

The simplicity and warmth of each piece is balanced with the elegant décor that predominates in each room. With white and brown the dominant colours, Linkfloor Hotel Air creates the perfect contrast with velvety textiles, solid wood geometric furniture and white hanging lamps that underpin the interior design of this house.

Safer and more hygienic kitchens with Krion™

White is also the main colour of the kitchen, where the compact mineral Krion™ shapes the countertop and the utility room with sink. The incorporation of this Solid Surface gives order to this space and improves hygiene due to its antibacterial qualities, its zero porosity, easy cleaning and the imperceptible joints that extend this surface into the living room.

Signature design in the bathroom

The open-plan bathrooms allude to nature and reinforce this idea of infinity in the marble effect walls (XTONE Ars Beige) and the countertops with Krion's integrated Basic washbasin. This Solid Surface is also the main material used for the shower tray and the K shelf, which is a feature in both rooms.

The purity of the white that characterises Krion is complemented by the Nantes accessories and the Tono collection from Noken These signature pieces, designed exclusively by the architecture firm Foster+Partners, get rid of superfluous elements and put form before function with a selection of custom-made finishes and materials.

This series is combined with Noken's Essence C and Round collections.
