PORCELANOSA Group Projects: Hotel Estheréa in Amsterdam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Located on the banks of the Singel canal, this four-star hotel features a unique blend of romantic interior design and ultra minimalist décor with PORCELANOSA's Premium collections.

Founded by María Flieger-Gruyters after World War II and run by her granddaughter Esther, Hotel Estheréa has consolidated its position as one of Amsterdam's most exclusive hotels.

When it first opened it was a guest house with just 12 rooms, but gradually over time the facilities and services have expanded, and it is now a four-star hotel.

An icon of traditional Dutch architecture

This boutique hotel with 91 rooms and two suites benefits from magnificent views of the Singel Canal and offers clients a range of facilities (library, bar, meeting room, gym and bike hire). Thanks to its unique and flawless conservation (the building dates back to the 17th century) UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 2010, and the building's original features - so characteristic of traditional Dutch architecture - have been retained.

PORCELANOSA Group has played a key role in the refurbishment: its Premium collections give shape to the building's bedrooms and rooms, unifying the classic and ultra modern décor. Chandeliers and hardwood structures live alongside printed textiles, plants, bronze figurines and geometric furnishings in iron and glass.

From romanticism to cutting edge décor

A trip through the ages that starts in the lobby and continues through to the restaurant. These are two of the most original, colourful spaces in the hotel: green velvet sofas and Klein blue walls, period lighting and botanical artworks blend harmoniously with XTONE™ sintered mineral compact. Inspired by natural marble, the material has been used as flooring throughout these two zones, giving a greater sense of continuity to each space due to the larger format, imperceptible joints and natural sheen.

A collection that also extends to the bathrooms in every room. Here we can see a reworking of Dutch romanticism, with Gravity Aluminium Hexagon Gold metallic mosaics by L'Antic Colonial, round gold ceramic sinks, geometric mirrors and white fabric lampshades. A combination of elements that enriches the hotel's historic and artistic narrative.
