PORCELANOSA Group projects: Elliots restaurant in Prestwick (Ayrshire), Scotland

The interior designer, Jim Hamilton, has designed a new restaurant for Buzzworks Holdings, owned by the renowned businessman, Colin Blair. Commitment to high quality and innovating products led project managers to use PORCELANOSA Group materials for the reform of the Elliots restaurant in Prestwick (Ayrshire, 132, Main Street), Scotland.

Unlike the  Lido restaurant in Troon which included a Krion® ventilated façade in its design, this project used the PORCELANOSA Group solid surface to create other striking decorative elements.

The renowned Scottish interior designer took advantage of the versatility of Krion®, creating the establishment’s bar and table tops. The white bar’s straight lines contrast with the circular design of the tables in the bar and restaurant area.

A special feature that the interior designer created in this design is an authentic way of keeping bottles cool. Bottle holders are incorporated into the centre of the tables; a practical and sleek twist in the design which amazes everybody at Elliots, Prestwick.

“One of the main difficulties in this project was reforming the entire establishment whilst serving the public on weekends”, explains Hamilton.

MGP Architects were in charge of the technical development of Elliots restaurant whilst Transition Interiors Ltd. were responsible for delivering this project, headed by Stephen Brownlow (Managing Director), Kelvin Murray (Manufacturing Director) and Dave Leahy (Installation Director).
