Paseo de la Castellana gets a Porcelanosa makeover

Madrid's financial district takes on a new look with ceramic collections from the multinational, as seen on Colonial's office buildings 52 and 163 where the designs integrate perfectly with the urban landscape.

The urban landscape of Paseo de la Castellana, Madrid's central axis and the city's financial and administrative nerve centre, has had an update featuring Porcelanosa tiles, integrating these new-look offices perfectly with the city's dynamic. This can be seen in the office space at number 52, owned by Colonial. Measuring 7,523 m2, this building with three structures and large vertical windows has interiors featuring PORCELANOSA Group Premium collections.

Cutting-edge rationality at 52 Castellana

The marble inspired lobby features a Krion® Lux Snow White 1100 EAST counter and L'Ac travertine flooring, with a design concept based on a sober, natural look, achieved predominantly through textures. These two concepts are at the heart of the Baltimore White, Newport Gray and Samoa Antracita ranges by Porcelanosa, which Promec and Antona & Polo Arquitectura - responsible for the project design - used on the floors and walls of the main rooms.

The office overhaul (scheduled for completion in 2021) will also include Square washbasins by Noken, complemented by Hotels and Acro Compact bathroom accessories.

In defence of symmetry at Castellana 163

Renovated by architect José Luis Galán, Colonial's 11,000 m2 building features an H-shaped floor plan and stands out for its symmetrical forms and large glass windows combined with the Krion® Lux Snow White 1100 mineral compact. Arctic White marble and Amsterdam Grey limestone floor tiles by L'Antic Colonial have been used in the rooms and main lobby area. Their antibacterial properties, imperceptible joins, and easy cleaning and non-porous properties, combined with high resistance, improve hygiene in the rooms. The lobby also features marble look XLIGHT large format technical porcelain, making the most of the natural light streaming in from outside.

The Krion® Lux Bright Concrete 9904 mineral compact has been used for the bathroom washbasins, along with wood inspired Ice Tanzania cladding, accented by Noken mirrors to brighten the overall look. Flexitec Pro adhesive by Butech and Colorstuk Rapid cement grout - also from the firm - were used to ensure the optimum installation of each ceramic tile.
