PORCELANOSA Group Project: Hotel Ibis Styles Madrid Prado

In the Barrio de las Letras quarter of Madrid, at the heart of the capital, the Hotel Ibis Styles Madrid Prado offers its guests a true experience for both their eyes and their taste buds, marking out a thematic route covering the main designations of origin of Spanish wines, thanks to a full renovation process in which one of the most innovative and versatile materials of PORCELANOSA Group has been used.

To form the reception of this central hotel in Madrid, the Krion® solid surface has been used; a new generation material with which the original counters of the hall have been created. Conceived with a minimalist design of geometric lines, the three volumes which make up the counter have been backlit through a process of interior milled low relief which depicts luminous circles on the white surface. These circular designs of different sizes are reminiscent of the fruits of the vine. In contrast with the purity of the whiteness of Krion®, a maroon coloured lateral wall, fitted with furniture in tones of the same colour range, also recalls the oenological theme of the hotel.

This same idea has been conceptualised in the different rooms of the hotel, where white has been used as a backdrop upon which the excellence of Spanish viniculture may be discovered through brushstrokes of vivid colours. Thus, while in the restaurant a large fresco represents the origin of the wine with a vineyard, each floor represents a step of the process from the grape harvest to bottling. Finally, in the rooms different scenes are illustrated over the beds, each one of them dedicated to a Spanish designation of origin.

Both for its modern design and its family atmosphere, the Ibis Styles Madrid Prado has become one of the hotels most sought after by travellers visiting the city searching for its wide selection of cultural activities.
