PORCELANOSA strengthens its commitment to sustainability at the Obra Blanca Expo

The ceramic manufacturer consolidates its presence in Mexico by attending the main interior design events of the season

PORCELANOSA Group has participated in the Obra Blanca Expo (OBE), a fair that brings the construction-sector companies with the highest representation in Mexico together to show their latest collections and construction systems over an area of more than 400 square metres.

From 11 to 13 October, the business holding company presented its commitment to constructing open, health-promoting and sustainable spaces at the fair, through design which includes more organic materials and finishes.

Under the concept “Home”, Porcelanosa has recreated different rooms in a property at the Mexican fair. These spaces involve a wide variety of textures, formats and finishes in wood and XTONE porcelain boards and tiles.

The exhibition was focussed on the visitor experience, so Porcelanosa, to align itself with this philosophy, collaborated with Maricú Alta Repostería, who prepared some dessert recipes live in the company’s kitchens which were then enjoyed by the attendees. In addition, Casa Italia was involved in the decoration of the stands.

On 6 October, for the second consecutive year, “10 of 10” was held. This Porcelanosa project involves the collaboration of ten Mexican architectural and interior design companies in which they create ten sustainable designs, integrating the Group’s materials into their creations which will then be displayed in the brand’s showrooms.

The second edition of “10 de 10” highlighted the possibility to create and foster awareness of sustainability towards the environment, and to generate positive change, moving towards a lifestyle that is more conscious and committed.

Upcoming events

After two years of absence due to the pandemic, a new edition of the Flores y Jardines Festival (FYJA) will be held from 20 to 23 October. This event brings together more than a hundred shops in the shop hall of Mexico, as they decorate their façades with plants and flowers. Framed by this year’s slogan, “Rebirth”, Porcelanosa is creating a floral design, inspired by the importance of connecting with nature, outside its showroom in Polanco. This piece invites us to reflect on society’s contribution to taking care of the environment and the impact it can have on our quality of life.

From 14 October to 13 November, Porcelanosa will participate in Design House, one of the initiatives that is part of Design Week Mexico 2022. The Spanish company has collaborated with four architectural and interior design studios to give life to the different spaces that come together to create a home. Studio Panebianco has designed a bedroom while Germán Velasco Arquitectos + DWR have created a bathroom. Sofia Aspe Interiorismo was responsible for choosing the interior design materials in the games room. And last but not least, Gerardo García was the architect of the kitchen.
