FAQ's

Microcement is one of the most widely-used materials in the construction world today and one of the most popular trends in bathrooms. This material is made from fibres, resins, polymers and aggregates. It stands out for being able to be pigmented with any colour tone, as well as having several finishes: matt, glossy, smooth and textured. This is a versatile material in terms of the amount of surfaces on which it can be applied, as well as with regard to its properties. It is impermeable, ultra-resistant, flexible and, as it does not have joints, it prevents the proliferation of bacteria and fungi in damp areas. Installation does not require construction work and it does not generate any debris

Polished microcement is a material with a thickness of between 2 and 3 mm, and it can be applied on any surface: floors, walls, ceilings... Its soft finish gives a minimalist and modern touch to bathrooms.

Smooth microcement is a type of microcement that can be applied on practically any surface without the need to remove the previous material. An improvement on smooth cement, much more aesthetic and with a wide range of colours and finishes.

Microcement can be installed on almost any type of surface or interior material (terrazzo, marble, tiles, plasterboard, gypsum, cement mortar, self-levelling mortar, etc). Suitable for walls, ceilings, furniture, bathroom elements such as the bathtub, shower or washbasin, swimming pools, etc. It can be placed both vertically and horizontally.

Alkaline products such as chlorine, bleach, ammonia, detergents and soaps in general with descaling properties should not be used. Therefore, the recommended way to clean this type of surface is with neutral soap. Although it is very easy to clean and requires virtually no maintenance, care must be taken to prevent it from deteriorating prematurely.

This material has different drying times depending on whether it is a base or fine microcement. Base microcement may take up to 5-8 hours to dry. For fine layers, the drying period is between 3 and 5 hours. When applying microcement in bathrooms, it is recommended to wait longer than this between each layer. This will ensure it dries properly and achieves a better result.
