L’Antic Colonial forms part of the Network of Responsible Bodies in Sustainable Forestry

Recently, L’Antic Colonial has become part of the Network of Responsible Bodies in Sustainable Forestry. This recognition was awarded after PORCELANOSA Group was accredited by PEFC Spain as an entity committed to the sustainability of our forests.

The issue of this accreditation was addressed during a meeting about sustainable Spanish companies related to the wood market, organised by PEFC Spain within the framework of the Maderalia Selección trade fair, held in Valencia from the 10th to the 12th of February.

With this accreditation, PEFC Spain endorses L’Antic Colonial’s commitment to the responsible production and purchase of certified natural wood products from sustainable forests. From now on, PORCELANOSA Group has become part of the Network put in place by PEFC to work together in the application of criteria for sustainability in green purchasing.

It is worth highlighting that this recognition reinforces the work of L’Antic Colonial in environmental responsibility, as the whole current catalogue of natural wood from the firm has the sustainable origin certification, either from PEFC or FSC. Thus, all wood flooring offered by L’Antic Colonial comes from forests managed in an environmentally efficient way to guarantee their sustainability through social, economic and environmental balance.

PEFC Spain is a body in charge of forestry certification, endorsing companies and systems which promote the sustainable management of forests. In the same way as the rest of the participants in the Network of Responsible Bodies in Sustainable Forestry (RER) of PEFC Spain, L’Antic Colonial commits to developing a green purchase plan for the promotion of forestry products of local origin, and to establish sustainability criteria in the procedure of contracting products such as paper and cardboard, envelopes, stickers, packaging and boxes, interior carpentry and building restoration, street furniture and office furniture, among others. Likewise, entities belonging to the RER also include certification as an evaluation criterion in product specifications of contracts for work, services and supplies in the projects in which they participate.
