Located right on the beachfront, the Hotel & Spa Castillo de Peñíscola (Hoteles Mediterráneo) has 88 spacious rooms created with collections by PORCELANOSA Group.
Framed by the Castillo del Papa Luna and the Palacio de Congresos, the four-star superior complex is housed in the former Hotel Los Delfines site. The building has been renovated by architecture studio Guillamón Rubert Asociados, and the construction and property development was handled by OCN Promociones.
The essence of Peñíscola in every room
The interior design stands out for its clean lines and neutral tones, with rooms dominated by beige and white hues. These shades - the hotel's corporate colours - also give shape to the modular façade, built with sintered mineral compact XTONE, Krion® Solid Surface and Butech's technical systems.
Super-flex S2 and Sylastic adhesives were used to ensure each piece was perfectly installed and adequately waterproofed, as well as Colorstuk grouting material, also by the brand.
In the shared areas and the restaurant, they went for cement inspired floor tiles such as Bottega in Caliza (limestone colour) by Porcelanosa. The tiles are accented by metallic mosaic tiles by L'ac (Gravity Aluminium Trace Gold) and a Mediterranean inspired décor centred on rattan pendant lighting, futuristic armchairs and plant fibre mirrors.
This is a different aesthetic to the rooms, with minimalist shades - white, grey and brown - accented by the restrained and calm Linkfloor Empire Cream vinyl flooring by L'ac, Aged Clay sintered mineral compact by XTONE (wall tiles) and Butech's Pro-Part decorative profiles. Conceived as an extension of the bedroom, the total white bathrooms masterfully blend the cutting-edge with comfort, through collections by Noken and Krion and the XTONE wall tiles.
They used the prefabricated Monobath system by Unit-Systems, Butech, which reduces lead times and makes the building more efficient. In the bathrooms, they opted for natural textures and geometric pieces by Porcelanosa. Examples include the Krion® Shell Slope shower tray, Nk Concept taps and Hotels accessories (all Noken collections), framed by Tono backlit mirrors (by Foster+Partners for Noken).
The Hotel & Spa Castillo de Peñíscola has a wide range of amenities designed for customers' enjoyment: the Wellness Spa, Papa Luna Restaurant, buffet restaurant and outdoor swimming pool, guaranteed to make for a unique and unforgettable stay.
