Hôtel de la Cité Royale: elegance reborn in Loches

The transformation of the emblematic neoclassical building stands out for its exclusive interior ambiences and its spectacular terrace.

The former Palais de Justice of the city of Loches is one of the finest examples of civil architecture of the Second French Empire. Built between 1859 and 1866 by the architects Gustave Guérin and Ferdinand Collet, the palace has a neoclassical style.

In 1989, when the palace closed its doors, a new use was sought until an ambitious project was launched to convert it into the Hôtel de la Cité Royale (4 stars). After a thorough transformation, its guests now enjoy a beautiful palace with a majestic outdoor terrace.

In the interior, with a wide range of products from the PORCELANOSA Grupo firms, every detail has been taken care of. With a romantic style applied in the decoration and in the different services it offers: indoor swimming pool with hydromassage jets, spa, hammam Turkish bath area and a first class restaurant.

Design that enhances the senses

Exquisiteness and elegance are the perfect definition of the values that the different interior spaces of the hotel exude. In all the bathrooms of the rooms, sanitaryware, furniture and taps from different Noken collections have been used.

In addition, with the intention of making the rooms more dynamic, different ceramic models by Porcelanosa have been used for the wall and floor tiles in the bathrooms. These include Newport Old Natural, China Blanco, Marbella Stone, Magma Black and Infinito Magma Black. At the same time, ceramic floor tiles such as Oxford Natural, Avenue Black Nature, Magma Black or Bottega Caliza have been laid.

In the spa area, ceramic models inspired by different materials have been used, creating a warm and relaxing space. For the general flooring of the space, Par-ker® Tanzania Almond, inspired by wood, has been chosen. In the case of the shower floor, the Paradise Minibroken Edge Blanco natural stone mosaic by L’ Antic Colonial has been installed. Image Dark, with a rough stone effect, has been used as the wall tiling in this area.

To pave the hotel terrace, Bottega Acero (Porcelanosa) has been used, with a cement effect. This is a special model that was installed as an outdoor raised floor with the Butech plots system.

The Hôtel de la Cité Royale is the perfect place to spend a weekend. In the surrounding area, you will discover palatial castles such as the Château de Chenonceau and the Château de Montpoupon. They are considered to be two authentic architectural marvels, among the most admired in France.
