The architect, Leonardo Omar, is among the finalists at the 12th Porcelanosa Awards with his project: Royal Hideaway Corales Suites Hotel.
PORCELANOSA Group products have helped to enliven a cosy, minimalist space with a strong personality from Tenerife.
The Royal Hideaway Corales Suites Hotel was one of the finalist projects in the Design of the Year category at the 12th Porcelanosa Awards. The architect, Leonardo Omar, has reflected the magic and charm of Santa Cruz in Tenerife in his architecture and interior design. The building itself is made up of an original shape inspired by a ship, and decor based on the Atlantic Ocean corals; this Ocean surrounds the island. For its innovation, style and great comfort, it picked up the Best Hotel 2018 award from the European Hospitality Awards (EHA). Omar used the PORCELANOSA Group products and materials in the building of this large space to enhance its extraordinary performance.
Stone and cement inspiration for a unique atmosphere
The Urbatek XLight large format series can be seen in several common areas with the Lush White and Savage Dark collections. Finishes which manage to capture the beauty and majesty of black and white marble in detail, providing any amount of sophistication to the atmosphere. As a link between pieces, we have the Stutech Grey Texture grout material from Butech.
The hotel has magnificent ocean views, due to the rocky and pronounced topography of the island, which has allowed each floor to become a real viewpoint. The architect has made the most of this location by creating original outdoor areas which include swimming pools, restaurants, green areas and relaxation areas. To intensify the light and create a greater sense of spaciousness, the Maker floor tiles by Urbatek were used in the Ice texture finish.
For the floor tiles in the rooms and in the suites, the On Timber series in the Light Gray finish has been installed, also by Urbatek, together with the Paradise Like Stone Blanco mosaic by L’Antic Colonial for the wall tiles. Elegant nuances which provides serenity.
The bathrooms follow the same lines of the hotel, thanks to the products by Noken and Krion. Noken taps, showers and bathtubs complete the set with the wall-hung toilets from the Arquitect collection. These types of toilets save space and make cleaning and maintenance that much easier. Krion also plays its part in the project with white countertops and semi built-in basins.
Its adaptation to the atmosphere, the spectacular design and the originality have led this project by Leonardo Omar to being among the Finalists for Design of the Year at the 12th Porcelanosa Awards.
