We begin the review with some of the most noteworthy finalist projects from the seventh edition of the Architecture and Interior design Awards. In this case we will examine the submission by Laura Marquina Aguarón and Marta Orensanz Sardaña, students at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Aragón design school. The creators have set out a multipurpose showroom, where the arrangement of space aids interaction between professionals. To do this, the students set out a rectangular central space, dedicated to displaying the Group’s products. Around this space, cubicles open onto each of the sides of the exhibition area, which function as an entrance, closet, work area and cafeteria for clients. On the entry sides, the managerial offices and toilets, fitted with elements from the Mood collection by Noken, are found. The simple, straight line design of the submission by Laura Marquina and Marta Orensanz contributes to enhancing the importance of the different products and materials present in the showroom, maintaining the elegant and plain aesthetic which characterises the whole space. All the materials used in the design of the facilities are from the eight firms of the PORCELANOSA Group, used even in the creation of some pieces of furniture such as display cases, work tables and the cafeteria counter.Subtle lines of LED lights run over the ceiling, the walls and the floor, and some areas are backlit, to bring together the atmosphere of the different spaces. The lighting system is completed by suspended lamps and natural light which passes through the large picture windows. For further photos on this project, click on the Flickr album.
